We shudder at the prospect of losing any of our connections -- to the servers, the fax, the Internet... Each of these results in a major disruption. If you're not yet this obsessed, you will be soon. The standalone computer is virtually obsolete. Your workstation needs to be "connected" to those of your co-workers, to servers and hosts, and to the rest of the world to live up to its fullest potential. Singular Solutions can help you stay on top of the ever-expanding array of options available.

Intranet? Internet?

It is all about delivery of information. We have gotten to an important point in the evolution of computer and information systems where there are no longer excuses for holding information "hostage." Internal file servers and databases can be connected to web servers to allow various groups to access key data. Easy to deploy systems will allow your sales force, your customers, and the world at large to have access to specific subsets of your corporate information. The payback on implementing these systems is generally quite short, and the security issues can be handled with off-the-shelf solutions.

We offer several Internet connectivity services through our partnership with EarthLink.

LANs and WANs.

Initially, there was a need for individuals or departments within a company to share expensive peripherals (printers, intelligent fax modems), and to access common documents and software from central servers in order to minimize local configuration problems. Local area networks (LANs) addressed these needs. But as e-mail, connecting to distant offices, and Internet browsing have become more important, even small organizations have discovered the need for a wide area network (WAN) connection. This may be as simple as a DSL connection to the Internet, or as sophisticated as an ATM or Frame Relay inter-office private network.

Is anyone out of the office?

Someone is always out of the office. Working from home, from the trade show, from a customer's office, we all find ourselves out of the office. Vendors and customers can always benefit from access to data in your system. Numerous solutions are available for remotely accessing your in-house services or to dial out of your local network. These services may run on an existing server, or involve a "firewall" to allow secure access to internal data via your existing Internet connection. Talk to us about the available options.

Phishing -- a new menace.

If you have ever received an email purporting to be from a reputable company, only to discover that it actually came from some malicious source, you have been "phished". The goal of phishers is to deceive you into entering your account information or password. Once they have your sensitive information there is nothing keeping them from withdrawing money or making purchases in your name. Singular Solutions is proud to support PhishGuard, a FREE service dedicated to combatting phishing. Once your computer is protected with PhishGuard, any new phishing scam that is reported is rapidly and automatically added to your computer's database of malicious Internet sites, effectively "innoculating" you against that scam. Try it, we think you'll like it.
